Crostini with tuna salad based on Andalusian sauce

Crostini is the older sister of bruschetta and existed before Italians became enthralled with tomatoes. It is an exceptionally easy-to-prepare dish that, as an anti-pasta before a meal, helps shorten the wait for the bigger barbecue work. Crostinis (whether combined with bruschetta or not) are an attractive and very tasty alternative to the now somewhat hackneyed basket of baguettes with herb butter. Especially if you top them with several original toppings and present them as an anti-pasta or tapas dish.
You can make crostinis as easy or complicated as you like. A simple slice of sausage (prosciutto, salami, chorizo, pate) is already very tasty, as is a slice of good cheese. Fried (chestnut) mushrooms also do very well on a crostini. Below is a recipe for crostini with tuna salad.
